The Snapchat competitor released the stories feature in waves, starting with a beta launch in Ireland back in January and then launches in certain countries including Chile and Greece.
Users' friends can view photos or videos their story for 24 hours, and stories won't appear on their Timeline or in News Feed unless users post them there. "Stories" is a secondary news feed which is separate from a user's main Facebook News Feed and can contain photos or stories which disappear after 24 hours. Alternatively, users could swipe news feeds right to try out fresh in-app camera.
Users will also be able to share their visual compilations directly to an individual or group of Facebook users if they choose to - part of the app's new "Direct" feature. When you think of it in a certain aspect, this feature is near identical to Snapchat's stories feature which they've had since 2013.
Additionally, the camera also makes it possible to share photos and videos with specific friends for a specified amount of time via a "Direct" feature. It has more than 50 unique filters, photo effects and frames.
Relief in France after Dutch election results
Thanks to the gains, the Green Left Party is expected to be a critical part of the Netherland's new coalition government. Mr Rutte's victory could not be more welcome news for Europe as it celebrates its 60th anniversary in Rome next weekend.
How is Facebook Stories different from others?

Hayes said Facebook is also partnering with brands for upcoming movies, so you can expect some movie-themed designs, celebrating everyone from Power Rangers and Wonder Woman to Despicable Me 3. Once those photos or videos are viewed once, a person can reply or react before they disappear. Once you're on the camera screen, you can snap a photo or a video and play around with it using Facebook's camera features that include filters and screens. The updates should already be downloaded if you have the latest version of the app.
The newly added feature can be found on top of the app. Users will see a round profile pic that indicates the stories shared by the friends.
