I know personally that I've been waiting for a Wonder Woman movie for as long as I can remember. It's a movie about equality. Her partner and love interest Steve Trevor was portrayed by fan favorite Nathan Fillion, star of the hit series Castle and Firefly. What gives the moment an extra comedic twist is Wonder Woman's complete absence of embarrassment over catching him in the buff, given her lack of male socialization on all-female Themyscira isle. However, Jenkins is looking forward to have continuity to Diana's story.
Wonder Woman succeeds in being a good mouthpiece, speaking out against human atrocities without glorifying them. In fact, the mere idea of such a term would be foreign to her. For instance, one scene has members of the British cabinet gripe in anger at the presence of Diana, because, well no women allowed when important men have to decide the future of the world. More information is expected to be released in the coming months - hopefully at San Diego Comic-Con - but for now, all of the studio's focus is on Wonder Woman itself. Connie Nielsen's matronly and regal Queen Hippolyta is completely believable as the leader of the Amazons-bravely charging into battle with her fellow sisters. Her stern nature and grueling training of Diana is tempered with an underlying warmth and caring-she's strict because she cares. As any fan of The Americans will tell you, Russell certainly has the strength (both physical and in personality) to play an Amazon warrior. He's a soldier who's conflicted.
There is no confirmation yet whether there will be a "Wonder Woman 2".
Donald Trump Typo Leaves Social Media in State of Mass 'Covfefe'
Someone bought a " covfefe " license plate in California, and there are already " covfefe " shirts and hats available for sale. What made " covfefe " extra curious is that Trump didn't delete the tweet until six hours after it was initially posted.
Unlike other movies, however, which too easily equate innocence with a childlike quality, "Wonder Woman" never makes the mistake of reducing Diana in any way.
"Yes, that is the stamp you would put on them", Jenkins tells The Post.
A recent profile in The Hollywood Reporter seemed to confirm that another stand-alone Wonder Woman movie is in the works, with star Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins contractually obligated to return for a second film.
