"The latest reports showed that some 50 people were killed and more than 87 others wounded in the vehicle bomb and gunmen attacks in Fadak area", Jasim al-Khaledi, head of the provincial health department said.
He warned that the death toll could rise as numerous wounded were in serious condition.
The so-called Islamic State group has said it carried out the attack.
